One Month

Stats: 5 lbs 11 oz and 19.5 inches long (That's 3% for both)
Favorite Things: Eating and Sleeping
Schedule: Eating every 3 hours days during the day...bath and bottle before bed...and sleeping 4-5 hours at night.

Our little girl is one month old! It's crazy to think that she hasn't even reached her due date yet. We had her doctor's appointment today and the doctor was very impressed with all her accomplishments. She has gained plenty of weight. In the NICU she dropped down to 4 lbs 1 oz (that was her lowest). So technically she's gained over a pound and a half in a month! She is eating well but it takes quite a bit of work to keep her awake through a meal. After eating she pretty much just crashes. Brooks is still very much in love with his sister. Every time he hears her cry he says, "It's okay, Laney!" And sometimes he'll even shhh her. He smothers her with hugs and kisses and gentle pats. I love my family!

Happy Birthday Gammy!

We were lucky enough to spend time with Gammy on her birthday. Brooks was so excited to eat cake and sing "Happy Birthday".

Potty Training???

I'm kind of, sort of, thinking about the whole "potty training" thing with Brooks. He's recently been going teetee on the potty (only because he knows he gets a treat if he does), and tonight he went poop on the potty! Birdie sent him some underwear to get him excited about it and tonight was the first night he tried some on. He had them on for about an hour, but he didn't really stay dry. I guess we're just practicing. I'd really like to have him potty trained though. Any helpful advice, books to read, websites, etc?! Because I have NO IDEA what I'm doing.

The airplane on Brooks' head is really an Easter basket, but Brooks enjoys wearing it as a hat:

Delaney's Room

I didn't get a chance to work on Laney's room before I was put on bed rest, but luckily Chad and my mother-in-law got right on it. They painted and my mother-in-law found adorable fabric and made some curtains. There are still a couple decorative things I want to do in the room, but for the most part...it's finished. I absolutely love it!

Delaney is Home!

Sunday afternoon we came home from a visit with Laney and were just hanging out when we got our daily call from the NICU doctors. This conversation was a little unexpected. The doctor gave me a report followed by, "So, there's no reason to keep her here any longer. Looks like she can go home tomorrow." I panicked a little trying to wrap my head around what he was saying. Everything was happening so fast! So, after 10 days in the NICU, our little girl was coming home. We spent that night in the NICU suite and Laney stayed with us. Nurses came in throughout the night to check on her and make sure everything was okay. She had to eat well during the night and pass her carseat test and then she could come home.
It was such a wonderful and terrifying night bringing her home.

And now she's home and doing well. She's dropped her weight just a little, but is still above her birth weight. She is eating better each day and she continues to sleep well being feedings. She is a very sweet little girl.
