6 months old

I just ordered this tutu from Gymboree and I just love it! We had to show it off for her 6 month pictures.

Well, Laneybug has now reached that "half-a-year" mark and I can hardly believe it. It doesn't seem possible that this once 4 pound peanut is now rolling, smiling, laughing, eating, "talking", and doing lots of other "big girl" things. Here are the stats:
Weight: 13lbs 6oz (10%) It seems small, cause it is, but she is moving up the curve nicely so the doctor is happy.
Height: 26 1/2 inches (75%!!!) I add all the exclamation marks because you have to remember - she was 6 weeks early people! The percentiles listed can give you a pretty good idea that we've got a long and skinny baby on our hands. We joke that she's going to be taller than all of us.
Head: Really? I don't remember, but it was 45% so she must have an average size head.
Here are some pictures from the past month:
Laney with her Gammy

Laney LOVES her saucer thing - which is good since that's where she spends her time in the mornings while I try to leave for work on time and Chad tries to get out of bed to take over.

Laney at her first Longhorn football game.

She started eating some food this past month. I waited a while longer than I did with Brooks. She has been eating bananas, avocados, carrots, and sweet potatoes. She not in love with eating...it just reminds me why I waited so long to feed her in the first place. I'm not a fan of this stage considering that everything we put in her mouth just gets pushed back out with her tongue. She's learning.

Laney and Mely.

Brooks continues to impress me by being the best big brother ever. He's always reading to Laney, covering her with her blanket, giving her her paci, smothering her with kisses...well, you get the point. He's great.

Purplicious

I just couldn't resist taking some pictures of my Laneybug dressed in her purple leggings and purple bow. Couldn't you just eat her up she's so darn cute?!

There's this cutsie boutique by our house and these leggings were the only thing I could afford. They are totally girly and don't really serve much of a purpose - but I just love 'em! And don't you just love the big purple bow - it's new. Ms. Suzanne (Laney's daycare lady) has been making all kinds of bows for Laney. She made this bow especially to match the leggings. I didn't even have to ask her! And that's just one of the reasons why I love Ms. Suzanne!
This next picture just makes me laugh. The little girl rolls all over the living room floor. I can't keep her on the blanket. She pretty much rolls until she runs into something. She started off in the middle of the blanket, and I'm pretty sure that after I took the picture she rolled straight into the couch. I think she's trying to figure out a way to catch up with her brother.

1 Peter 5:7

I am so proud of Brooks for memorizing this verse.
1 Peter 5:7 "He cares for you."
He loves to say it over and over. The funniest part of this video is at the end. Whenever he's given a compliment he responds with "you're welcome" instead of "thank you." In this video he added a little sing-song (which he often does) at the end just to respond: "You're Wellllcooome!"
